During an E3 remarks event moments ago, Activision Blizzard said the November launch of Infinity Ward’s Modern Warfare 2 will be the largest entertainment launch of any kind when it launches this November. Prior to that remark, the company also made clear it will be more aggressive on downloadable content in the future. No details were given but it’s safe to say with the massive success the recent World at War DLC , we can expect those maps to keep rolling in.

We have to make a confession, today is a slow news day. What with our contingent of brave souls landed in L.A. for E3 , along with all the other videogame news outlets, there is not much coming out during the calm before the storm. Thankfully, it gives us a chance to talk about things that would otherwise be swept under the rug. Enter the official Red Steel 2 box art, which is technically a “work-in-progress,” but Ubisoft sent it over to Kotaku , so it must be almost done progressing. And it’s looking eye catching indeed (full image after the break). Now, if it will only play as good as it looks.

Along with this, they mention Gran Turismo and Metal Gear Solid coming to the PSP. This is NOT a new PSP (like a PSP2) it is just a new SKU.

A message board for something called “Halo: Reach” recently appeared and then disappeared on Bungie’s forums. Reach was the planet that was the subject of the prequel novel Halo: The Fall of Reach, which chronicled the events right before The Pillar of Autumn dropped out of slipspace over the planet Halo at the beginning of Halo: Combat Evolved . Reach was also the planet where all remaining Spartans save for Master Chief were lost. I’ll stop before I have to place spoiler tags. The anonymous source who sent the picture of the forum grab above to Kotaku also claimed that Halo: Reach had a tentative release date of Fall 2010, and that its message board would go online tomorrow, June 1st, which is when Microsoft’s big E3 press conference happens to be. One of their big announcements perhaps..

When Activision announced Guitar Hero 5 , we knew little more than the game would include some notes , and possibly a popular ditty or two .
